bsg fangirling, a new cat, and oddly normal conversations
Because BSG rocks, here's a witty summary of Battlestar Galactica from the start (2003miniseries) to what we have so far (season three). This can actually be found at the SciFi Channel's offical website under the same name as the page cut- YouTube as well. If you know everything, it's still good for a laugh... if you know nothing, catch up now!

Also Quote/Conversation of the Day:

Me: I had no idea that pixilated manslaughter was paramount to your mental health.
Mom: Where've you been the last twenty-odd years?
Me: Playing with my cardboard box.
Mom: How's that working for you?
Me: Well, I've made it to Pluto but due to a misunderstanding at Planet-Side Border Patrol my passport's been confiscated and The Man's after me for being an illegal alien.

Mom: Try Neptune.

(pause)

Mom: Naw, go for Saturn. You wouldn’t want to spend the rest of your days working in a bar.

Me: (thinks) Oh, as long as they’re not sexually challenged saxophone players, I’d be shinny.

This evening was made of win!

Oh, also (also2) we have a new cat. It's official, he's a black and white short hair named Jinxs (formerly known as Mitty... honestly, 'Mitty'?). He arrived Sunday and managed to find a home in my beloved scoop-chair, and I haven't the heart to displace him. It's odd having a cat that actually wants attention again, even odder that it's a black and white. I keep looking over and thinking he's far to dark then having to remind myself that Jinxs is not Spike.

Okay, so best conversation ever. Ya'll rock, that's hilarious.

And also: That's an adorable name for a kitty. How is this new one doing, anyway? And where did you get him from, and about how old is he? And is he following the tradition of your kitties and made of lots of squish? And also, are you used to having him around, yet?

I haven't watched that bsg thing yet, but I do intend to...and to combine all the comments into one since I'm lazy...wow that's a whole lot of Hermione fan fiction. That...I might...maybe...probably will eventually go look at. (Still thinks you should give in and go through with that website...ultimate dorkdom extreme.)

Okay, and so I just watched the BSG thing. And yeah. It's like a Space Soap Opera. Craziness. So will I have any idea what's going on if I watch whatevver BSG comes after that, was it comprehensive enough?

Okay, I just had to rewatch the BSG vid to see how much of what you need to know is shown... Um, I'm going to say that as long as you've actually paid attention to what the narrator was talking about you'll be good. You might be floundering for an episode and a half, but that's the extreme. Basically all that you'd need to know is: Cylon's aren’t confined to the metal 'toster' forms any longer and they look human, there are supposedly twelve different human-models, the Fleet (convoy of humans on their way to the mythical place of 'Earth') knows seven of these copies, we the watchers now know four more and the only one left is supposed to be someone in the fleet or position of power/change (as the four who were reveled as the season finale; military second in command –observe the eyepatch of Saul Tigh- a fighter pilot –Kara Starbuck Thrace’s husband and former freedom/resistance fighter on the nuked planet of Caprica- an engineer –resistance fighter on ‘New’Caprica found season two that put a hiccup on the whole ‘lets find Earth’ thing on account of being under Cylon rule for a year and change- and the President’s aid –who’s been loosing it for some time now, and who took swindled her way in after the first aid died), Starbuck knows the way to Earth and has told the fleet so after mysteriously showing up back from the dead… and um… that’s it?

Um, maybe. Well, you can always give it a shot and see what you’re able to make out. There are still some mysteries left to a veteran viewer, so…

Also; Jynx has settled in quite well, we just had his claws removed and he’s just sleeping but so damn adorable. He isn’t cute persay, but so lovable and clutzy it’s hard not to think of him as just that. He’s… not so much of the squish yet, but give it time it’s bound to happen. And I’m quite getting used to him, no longer expecting him to be Spike for the coloring.

Muhahaha. Yeah, I actually meant to go to the sight and see what category my character’d end up in… just keep managing to get distracted before I make my way to the site. Hmmm, perhaps I’ll go see if I can still get in, though I’d have to go get a wand… can I do both at the same time? Must look at the F&Q section...

I did actually pay attention to the narrator! I was so proud of myself. Awesome, maybe I'll give it a go...are new episodes airing now, or when does it start up again?

And that's good to here about Jynx...love that spelling, by the way, it's real nifty. Haha, so it's a very unique form of cute, that works too. And no, I don't doubt it won't be long before he picks up the squish. Lovely news. And where did you get him, anyway?

And oh, I can set you up pretty for that sight. Because I'm a major dork extreme, and the application won't be up until May and also the thread you'd need to post in to thus be placed...and the wands would be...anytime before the end of may, I think. FAQs answer all. ::insert dorky chants of 'Do it!' here:: Sigh. My brain's been taken over by it. Alas.

Woot. Convert. Excellent. New season just started, we’re two episodes into the last season. Actually the scifi channel is at this moment playing last week’s episode. If you can managed to wrangle the tv Friday nights, that’s when they air. Veoh might actually have something, even if it’s the older episodes. If you’re actually interested sometime this summer I could lend you (or we could watch during a marathon) the first season, which we’ve owned for some time now.

Jynx. Yes, it was decided to change the spelling to this… not sure when. He’s a hand-me-down kitty if there ever was one; Aunt Joy works for hospice (H.O.S.P.I.C.E.? Hospise? Bah!) and after one of her cases/chages died the family didn’t want him. We did. Well, we sorta did. It actually started out as a trial-run just to see how our cats took to him and *bamph* we decided to keep him. Quite lovable.

May you say? Oh, I can do that. For some reason I was thinking it was this month with the sorting and I’d have missed it. Maybe… maybe. Actually, no. Yes. I want to sort my character. Do you get a say over which house, like do you know with the questions asked how to respond to lead her this or that way? Ha, a rigged sorting!

I'll have to check it out...though I think I'll just wait until I'm back home. It'll be easier and I'll have a larger chance to remember.

And that's awesome. Go Jynx. I can imagine it might be a hard thing to do a trial run with a kitty like that and not come to that conclusion.

And lastly, nope, didn't miss. And you can totally rig it...just make your character fit one house mainly, and answer questions with that particular state of mind. People do it a lot...though sometimes they fail...like me.
